The following are the minimum equipment guidelines.2 Light Duty Tow Truck equipped as follows: - Minimum GVW Rating of 15,000 lbs.
- Hydraulic Boom, up, down, extend, and retract
- Standard Towing Sling
- Hydraulic Wheel Lift, up, down, extend, retract, and tilt (NOT self loading)
- Twin Winches
- Winch Capacity 4 Tons (8,000 lbs.) minimum with free spool
- Wire Rope 3/8"-7/16" in good condition, terminated by a steel swage or wedge/socket
Hardware for Light Duty Tow Trucks: - 1 Snatch Block per winch - min. 4 Ton 4“ sheave (8,000 lb.)
- 2 Standard Tow Chains with “J” Hooks and “T” hooks (10 ft preferred, 8 ft min)
- 2 Secondary Securement chains (safety chains)
- Tow Lights DOT approved (suction or magnetic mount)
- Tie Down Straps and Ratchets (or proper securement) for Wheel Lift
1 Light Duty Rollback, equipped as follows: - Minimum GVW Rating of 15,000 lbs.
- 19 ft.- 22 ft. Bed
- Wheel Lift or Stinger (Optional)
- Winch Capacity 4 Tons (8,000 lbs.) minimum with free spool
- Wire Rope 3/8"-7/16" in good condition, terminated by a steel swage or wedge/socket
Hardware for Light Duty Rollback:Supplied by WreckMaster Note: Wire Rope Clips (Cable Clamps) are unsafe and are not to be on any equipment used in this training session. 2 Medium/Heavy Duty Tow Trucks, equipped as follows: - Minimum GVW Rating of 20,000 lbs.
- Hydraulic Boom, up, down, extend, and retract
- Standard Towing Sling (at least 1 unit)
- Hydraulic Wheel Lift, up, down, extend, retract, and tilt
- Hydraulic Outriggers
- Twin Winches, 18,000 lb. capacity, minimum with free spool
- Wire Rope -1/2"- 5/8" in good condition, terminated by a steel swage or wedge/socket
Hardware for Medium Duty Tow Trucks: - 1 Snatch Block per winch - min. 6 Ton (12,000 lb.)
- Tow Light Bar and or Tow Lights, DOT approved
- Axle / Frame Forks / Spring adapters
Other Hardware and Vehicles: Truck with a straight front axle for Under Reach pick-up. This can be a school bus or a medium/heavy duty tow truck. - Approved First Aid Kit (at hands on location).
- Fire extinguisher on hand during the training session.
