Our TRIP Level 1 course teaches you the skills to work faster, safer and smarter. We focus on light-duty vehicles, with some techniques for medium and heavy duty work. This two-day foundational program is a pre-requisite for all other WreckMaster certifications. Following a similar structure to our Level 2/3: Fundamentals course, you will learn Level 2 Towing and Level 3 Recovery. Level 2 Towing teaches you how to safely get the most out of your equipment and keep your customers happy. Level 3 Recovery
About TRIP
The I-95 Corridor Coalition worked with the Georgia Department of Transportation and Georgia Regional Transportation Authority to develop and implement the Towing and Recovery Incentive Program (TRIP) in 2008 to pay heavy- duty recovery companies a monetary bonus for clearing commercial vehicle wrecks within 90 minutes. TRIP facilitates quick and safe clearance of commercial vehicle crashes by improving towing procedures, and improves traffic incident management in the region while building a mutually beneficial relationship within the towing community to meet quick clearance goals. Only highly skilled companies with trained operators and specialized equipment may participate in TRIP.
The Coalition has been a partner in this Program since 2007, which included the development, issuance, and award of a competitive Request for Proposal . Fellow Coalition Members States benefit from the information derived during this RFP process , including developing the certification process, determining the criteria and training course requirements, and selecting qualified trainers. These training courses can be hosted in any Coalition State to provide training to TRIP operators and supervisors.
Business owners, company managers, trainers, health and safety reps and career-oriented operators are all a perfect fit for the Level 2/3 Foundations course.
Newer operators get a big jump on the learning curve. More seasoned operators receive validation for what they’re already doing correctly and can explore more complex scenarios.
All graduates return to work ready to share what they’ve learned with their team.
This course isn’t recommended for those with limited field experience, such as dispatchers, sales staff or brand new operators.
There are no pre-requisites for attending, other than a state- or provincially-issued driver’s license.
